Monique Lhuillier Spring 2008 Ready-to-wear Collections - 031

The fluidity of Monique Lhuillier's fashions always takes my breath away. Her Spring RTW collection is certainly no exception. The soft, muted colors bring freshness to her frocks and the silky drapery of the fabrics offer an almost ethereal quality.

FACES
- a soft, muted taupe in the crease of the eyes, powdery matte cream on lids, a dusting of soft gold highlights inner eye, powdered brows, a touch if pink on the lips with a dab of clear gloss and a smattering of pearl highlighting on upper cheek bones with a sculpted contour effect just underneath, and of course the tight swept back updo with band

How could we feature Spring 2008 RTW, in all its feminine allure, without a spot on Stella McCartney. One of my favorite designers, Stella really knows how to capture feminine simplicity. Her designs allow the wearer to exude ease and beauty seemingly effortlessly; such an art; such an artist.

FACES
- loose, natural hair, a pinch of flush and color on cheeks and lips topped by a hint of moisture, and fresh, natural eyes finished with a simple thin black lining and mascara

Continuing our retrospective of Spring 2008 RTW fashions, more femininity can be witnessed in Chado Ralph Rucci's collection for the season (shown: Oct 7, 2007, Paris).

FACES
- again we see sleeked back hair tightly woven and pinned to the back of the head, but this time very dramatic black-lined eyes with tiny rhinestone accents and soft, fresh pink lips

Models - Svetlana Lazareva, Linda Vojtova, Mariya Markina, Flavia De Oliveira

FASHION
- fabrics, sourced from the top of the ultraluxe tier, make expensive-looking canvases for the detailing; Asian obi effects and Da Vinci-inspired illustrations on filmy silk dresses represented Rucci’s art and architecture stance

Models - Milana Keller, Coco Mitchell, Viviane Orth, Elena Sudakova, Du Juan, Elsa Sylvan

So now that seasons have literally moved forward since the Spring 2008 RTW shows were had, let's rewind a bit and see what is styling this Spring season now upon us. We'll highlight faces and the fashion that inspired them from some of the top designing houses and designers. Here, now, a peak at Alber Elbaz's designs for Lanvin Spring 2008 RTW (shown: Oct 7, 2007, Paris).

FACES
- sleeked back hair or pony-tail, soft unfocused eyes and burgundy-berried lips

Models - Maryna Linchuk, Ksenia Kahnovich, Anja Rubik, Lily Donaldson

FASHION
- graceful draping of fluid-like polyester (yes, polyester), dresses without seams, belted femininity and a bit of eathery flambuoyance

Models - Natasha Poly, Taryn Davidson, Maryna Linchuk, Anja Rubik, Rachel Clark, Serafima Vakulenko
