Right, I dont know about you but when its cold outside, the oil balance in my scalp seems to some what shift and my scalp seems to flip into uber sensitive mode.
At the moment im using head and shoulders for sensitive scalps, it seems to be the only shampoo that doesnt irritate my scalp at the moment. It contains almond oil to keep everything nicely nourished, and it leaves my hair really soft.
I recently watched a video that I thought might help those of you that have the same problem in the colder months. The video shows you how you should wash your hair and also shows you how to do a cute Mary- Kate, Ashley Olsen toussled wave style.
Watch and enjoy...
If your a fan of big hair then this is for you. Do excuse the crappy web cam picture above, but feel free to love the pretty volume.Elevate by Neal & Wolf is a volumising lotion that is designed to put an end to drab locks for good.
What they say:
Designed to improve body and texture while enhancing shine and manageability. Specially selected ingredients complete the effect, reducing static and adding a spectacular glossy finish.
Directions Apply throughout towel dried hair before blow-drying with a large round brush to achieve ultimate volume.
What I say:
I already have quite thick hair so its quite hard for me to comment on that side of things, but the elevate side of things gets a massive thumbs up from me.
This product is available from HERE and retails at £11.95 for a 200ml bottle
I spotted this image in a hair mag (so exuse the massive light reflection at the top) a few days back and fell in love, I'm a sucker for loose messy curls. I love everything about this picture the makeup and the hair so I will definitely be re creating this look over new years if I decide to go out.I could create this look on my own hair, but realistically when its the party season you want to go all out. In other words the bigger the hair the better.
I want my hair to stay voluminous minus the hair spray, so that's where your help comes in......
Can you recommend me some good quality clip in hair extensions???
And do any of you like to have a change for new years.....
To most of us Lisa is known as the lady who coloured people's hair on ten years younger, but I was heading there for an appointment with Jason Cocking.
He has been in the business for 15 years and styled the locks of Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, Nigella and Cat Deely just to name a few. He was also the colourist on the recent Guy Ritchie film, Sherlock Holmes.
First off let me tell you how lovely the salon is, No wait actually you can see for yourself...
Very sleek and modern, and I was loving the egg shaped seats ( I'm such a child)So onto the hair...
I could have taken advantage off this and changed my whole look, but no what does little old boring me do, I chicken out and opt for my roots being lifted, a trim, A vegetable colour gloss, some weight being taken out the sides and a straight blow dry.
Even though Its a minor change, I love it. The colour is perfect and my hair is much bouncier now that the weights been taken out. The dead ends are gone too, it had to be done.....
Beam me up Scottie......After the above picture was taken I had my hair washed. The chair I was sitting in massaged my back whilst I was given the most amazing head massage. I could of actually fell asleep.
This was my hair when I got home, I did get a bit wind swept on the way -_-. I love the shine, it was insane when I stepped out of the salon, and I definitely caught a few ladies giving me the side eye on the way home. (Haha!)
The whole experience was great, I was really looked after. Most importantly I was listened too, there was no crazy scissor action going on here!
I felt like I was in there for no time at all, and I was loving that the hair colours they used develop in 10 minutes.
I didn't think anyone would be able to handle my hair but oh my I was so proved wrong. To blow dry my hair is a job in itself, Jason is the only person in my life that has given me a perfect blow dry using just a brush, my old hairdresser gave up half way through (the cheek!!) I think he deserves a medal.
I just want to say a big thank you to everyone at the salon, especially to Jason for conquering the bush that is my hair, I love it
Ladies don't ever say a man cant do a good job....
Please don't be alarmed, I did not stick my finger in a socket, this is my hair when its left to air dry naturally. The above picture was taken when it was about 70% dry, It only grew bigger with time -_- I used to have much more of it when I was younger and was nicknamed 'lion' whenever anyone had attempted to give it a blow dry, and again -_-
Its all well and good having hair like this if you've got an on tap zoo keeper to tame it, which I sadly do not have. Nothing and I mean nothing has ever tamed my hair in its natural state, Its definitely in a league of its own
Enter Umberto Giannini new Curl Friends range, designed to help curly head girls stay frizz free....
The Hairspray...
This spray is one like no other, no matter how much you spray, it never gives your hair that crunchy cornflake feeling. It smells lovely and definitely keeps style in place for a solid few hours. I would recommend this to anyone really, I have used this when my hairs straight and its just as good.
The Serum....Designed to keep frizz at bay and enhance your curls leaving them shiny and smooth, without leaving you looking like you have dunked your head in a bucket of grease. This definitely passed the test, I pumped a lot of this stuff into my hair and all I got was shine, no grease. I do have the type of hair that soaks up moisture like a sponge though, so bare that in mind.

All in all I love, and I would say you could definitely use these whether your hair is straight or curly. If you are going to try these on naturally straight hair, make sure your hair is on the thicker side as I'm not sure if these would weigh down thinner hair.
Sadly my hair defeated these products, although my curls were much more defined my root area was just out of control, which is the norm for me. I gave in and headed to my straighteners, but I was left with uber shiny hair so that was a bonus.
I'm fighting a losing battle when it comes to taming my natural hair, I'm never going to win.
The Curl Friends range is available in Boots right now, but isn't available online yet.
Each product retails at £4.89
Have any of you tried these? or maybe you just have a magic tip for dealing with unruly curly hair....
So onto the post. I was recently tweeting about the Umberto Giannini 'Backcomb in a bottle'. I had been trying to get my hands on it for ages with each trip to my local Boots being a major fail. As I tweeted my upset, another lovely lady '@MandyKhaira' tweeted me saying she couldn't get hold of it either.
A little time passed, like 30 mins lol and she tweeted me again saying she finally found it on a 3 for 2 in boots and picked it up. She said one was for her friend one was for her and I could have the spare one. I offered her money but she declined saying it was a gift from her beauty addict heart. I thought that was so sweet, so after ensuring she wasn't a sweaty old man that just wanted my address, I emailed her my details and look what came yesterday.......
The first thing I did was tweet her a big 'thank you' because not only did she send me this, she threw in something else too (that I will get onto in a moment.)
Clearly being me,I wasn't just going to open this and let it sit there, so I sprayed it.......
It took the section of hair I sprayed it on up north, it wasn't sticky or crunchy but I definitely think there is a knack to using this so expect a review soon.
She also threw in a favourite of hers and I think its now a favourite of mine.
Its the Lancome colour fever lippie in '204 Beige Everyday'. Its such a natural pretty sheer lipstick. I'm actually wearing it in the top picture. I think it gives my lips that extra something something. If your reading this, thanks again Mandy
And for the rest of you what do you think about the backcomb in a bottle? are you loving it or hating it?
Are you loving my new lovely lippie?
The other day this dropped through my door, via a first come first serve thing on John Friedas facebook page.
Now my natural hair is really dark, and usually when I go for a chocolate brown hair colour,I end up near enough black.
Not with this colour....
I went for medium chocolate brown from the new precision foam colour range. It was easy to apply without any drips. Im not going to lie,it was actually the first time I coloured my hair without the usual old hair dye towel round my neck.
The colour wasn't as dark as I thought, and with the flash on it shockingly matches the colour on the box.
Obviously in real life I dont walk around with a bright light shining on my head, but in natural daylight its so deep and chocolatey.
Sorry if the above pic has come out teeny,I cant judge anything through my phone :-\
Im loving it. I also cut a fringe in but im slowly bringing it across day by day to get used to it lol. I feel a tad mushroom like....
Will any of you be going darker for winter? I always find it fitting

This isnt your usual hairdryer, they call it a sunny dryer because instead of it blowing your hair all over the place,it uses gentle heat to penetrate the hair from the inside out, rather than just scorching the outside.

This has a 2000 watt motor,3 heat settings,2 speed settings and a cool shot.
I wasnt using a particular special dryer before this one, just a standard one purchased from a high street hair shop that was nearing 9 years old!
When I first used this I did notice that it dried my hair a hell of a lot quicker than anything I had used before. My hair wasnt left looking frazzled and frizzy either.
On my quest to grow out my hair, having this in my life is definitely worth it.Having the dryer pointed at my head for a reduced amount of time, means less heat which means less damage.Anything that keeps my hair healthy gets the thumbs up from me.
This is available from salons across the country as well as Selfridges and Harrods
RRP £109.99
It is pricey, but if your looking for a professional piece of kit,its worth it in the long run.It also comes with a 2 year warranty.

The Hair Transitions of Abbey Lee: L-R Fall 2010 for Emilio Pucci; Fall 2010 for Chanel Couture; Spring 2011 for Rag & Bone
Ok, so we know they're all prone to doing it at some point ... the high fashion models ... and platinum blonde hair. Agyness Deyn, Iekeline Stange and now little Abbey Lee Kershaw. I say little not because of her stature or popularity, this girl rocks it! I say it because the dear is a mere 20 years old (yes, I know 33 or so in model years). We've been following her here since she first broke out as a fresh-faced catwalk star Fall 2008.
Here's what fashionologie reports about Abbey's fun new look having spoken with the gorg one herself at Chanel's Soho store opening this past Thursday:
Abbey Lee Kershaw, who not long ago cut her hair short, has taken the change even further. "I was ready for a big change," she explained this evening at the Chanel Soho store opening in New York, where she debuted her newly-dyed platinum blonde hair. She plans to keep the color all season, "unless a designer asks for it to be changed." How's it been received so far? "I only dyed it two days ago, so no one's really seen it yet." She told Modelinia of the dye job: "It took seven hours and I didn’t speak for another four hours. I’ve never dyed my hair before. Also I think that with the cut that I’ve got, it was the time to go white.”
Lee is so beautiful she could shave her head bald and still garner beauty adoration! On another note, Stay tuned, my loves, some Spring 2011 Mercedes Benz Fashion Week posts about to roll out!

As im still upoading things through my phone,it only lets me add one picture to my posts at a time(dry!)so iv picked the one thats a clear must see.
This will be the first of a couple posts, just to give you all a heads up and a little sneak peak.
I was one of 6 lucky bloggers to be invited to the cloud9 'O' launch at the Dorchester hotel.
The 'O' is a look into the future when it comes to heated rollers.
Ok,so what is it and how does it work?
The 'O' is a pod like device that heats up specially designed rollers in super speedy time. You simply pop your roller in the pod,you will then hear three beeps, and wa la....your roller will be heated to 135 degrees, hot enough for your hair and heated from the inside, the rollers are not at all hot to handle.Might I also add,the pod doesnt get hot at all, even after the rollers have been heated.Oh and it wont just beep for anything,it detects the rollers only.
The rollers arnt your usual heavy weight velcro snagging torture devises. They are very light weight and are covered in tiny combs to comb your hair, and keep it tangle free whilst your putting them in.They also stay in without the added fuss of having to use clips or pins.
The perfect device for adding body and oomph to the hair, and its not just for long hair. Both hair models at the event had shoulder length hair, and the results were great.
TheO isnt available to buy just yet,but will be very soon.RRP £149.95,but if you cant wait until then, they are being used in a number of salons at the moment,John Frieda,Nicky Clarke and Urban Retreat just to name a few.
Until my next post (with loads more pics) check here to see it in action....

Redken Creative Consultant Guido shares the goods on one trend for spring found off the runways at Fashion Week. Up or down, the new romantic looks have a more defined shape, with a grittier, slightly disheveled feel.
It’s fitting that leatherwear house Loewe showed sleek, leather-look ponytails on the runway. Here's how Guido created the look:
LEATHER-LOOK PONYTAIL
- Step 1: Brush in hardwear 16 super strong gel and gather hair in a ponytail
- Step 2: Flat-iron sections to create a slick finish. For best results with your flat iron, mist on iron silk 07 ultra straightening spray to smooth and protect hair.
70's INSPIRED WAVES
These 70s-inspired waves were seen at this year's Versace show. To get the look:
- Step 1: Start by shampooing and conditioning with All Soft.
- Step 2: Blow-dry hair smooth, then curl with a medium-size curling iron to create soft bend.
- Step 3: Finger-comb, then apply a small amount of rewind 06 pliable styling paste to add soft separation.
BARDOT-ESQUE UPDO
- Step 1: Start by creating a high ponytail, then backcomb the tail to add texture.
- Step 2: Twirl it into a wide knot and secure with bobby-pins.
- Step 3: Mist hair with quick dry 18 instant finishing spray, then layer on vinyl glam 02 mega shine spray to add polish.
NEW CLASSIC
A revolutionary French twist with height and texture worthy of Marie Antoinette as seen at Louis Vuitton
- Step 1: Apply a nickel-sized amount of thickening lotion 06 body builder to damp hair and blow-dry.
- Step 2: Take 1-3 inch sections and curl hair using a curling iron.
- Step 3: Once curls have cooled, backcomb the entire head.
- Step 4: Gather hair in the back and twist to create a French twist and secure with bobby pins.
- Step 5: Mist hair with forceful 23 super strength finishing spray for humidity resistence and all day control.
TOUSLED BRAID
Get the tousled braid seen at Alexander Wang, which goes perfectly with the designer’s modern take on American sportswear.
Step 1: Apply full frame 07 protective volumizing mousse, rough dry and swoop hair over one eye.
Step 2: Braid hair, letting the braid fall over your shoulder, tie loosely with elastic band, and pull out pieces to soften the look.
