Dior Jazz Club Eye Palettes for Fall 2009



So I'm seeing these palettes all over the web and in mags and I'm drooling over them both!
New from Dior, these limited-edition Jazz Club Couture Eye Palettes feature Dior's signature silver toggle on a black patent clutch, which is the must-have accessory for Fall.



Jazz Club in Smoky Jazz 001 - $65
Inside, you'll find four eyeshadows, a brow-shaping powder, and a cream-to-powder eyeliner—all are perfectly coordinated to create a sultry, smoky-jazz harmony.


Jazz Club in Purple Jazz 002 (The Nordstrom Exclusive Palette) - $65
All kinds of purple are defined in this new Jazz Club Eye Palette. Includes pinks and greys, berries and plums to create the perfect day-to-evening look for Fall 2009. This all-in-one palette features six Dior eye products. Dior Liner, Sourcils Eyebrow, Fard Matte Eyeshadow, Fard Iridescent Eyeshadow, Fard Iridescent Eyeshadow, and a topcoat.

What you'll see in the collection: big coats, wasp waists, nipped jackets, circle skirts, tulle dance dresses, architectural gowns cut from spiraling lace and jutting scrolls of crin. Mostly framed in black and white, with tints of gray, caramel, Parma violet, mint, and chartreuse to follow, the shapes traced familiar silhouettes. A nod to Dior's New Look peplum became a stiff patent hip-jutting belt with cross-lacing in the back, and a knowing acknowledgment of the basis of the hourglass silhouette came in a couple of see-through gowns with the corsetry fully on display. - Sarah Mower (style)

DIOR Resort 2009



A little 1960's mixed with old-Hollywood glamour seemed to be themes for the 2009 Resort showing of Dior by John Galliano in New York yesterday. The collection is a mixture of pastels - corals, pinks, blues, greens with bejeweled detailing. Oh, and let's throw in a Mexican sombrero or two (or many) while we're at it. NOW - in addition to the fashions, beauty and styles, looks like a couple of those fresh new top models are strutting their stuff Dior-style - (can you hear the Jefferson's theme song "Movin on Up" sounding in the background?) ... woohoo!

DIOR Fall 2008 RTW - Paris

MU Artist Pat McGrath's creative genius strikes again. Look at these mod beauty moments from the Christian Dior Fall 2008 RTW catwalk in Paris. John Galliano, designer, says of the theme of this collection, "optimism and opulence of the sixties" - indeed. One journalist dubbed it "Mrs. Robinson meets Valley of the Dolls"; take your pick.

The Vreeland and Klimt persuasions are obvious but I'm not sure I see the Madame X in the photos we've been privy to thus far. Coincidentally, this little piece follows right in line with my carnivale theme going on this week, don't ya think?
